Plan Overview

Over the last few years we have had a number of people ask us for a 2,000 square foot rambler, using full universal design. This 2,100 sq. ft. plan has all that, and more, offering all the energy efficiency we know how to bring in to a home.

This Positive NRG Home™ also has enough south-facing roof area to support over 18KW of energy-producing solar panels, in addition to a solar hot water heater. This would provide enough energy not only to power the house, but to power TWO commuter cars, for a total of 26,000 miles per year! Imagine living your life completely fossil-fuel-free, with no energy bills, EVER, for your car or your house, for the rest of your life! You would save over half a million dollars just over the next thirty years, based on the average energy use for a similar sized home and cars driving the same mileage, when the historical rate of inflation is applied to the cost of energy.

There is a lot of flexibility designed into this home, the den and the media room could both double as extra bedrooms.  Several versions of this great home have been developed ranging in size from about 1,900 sf to over 2,200 sf.
