Members of our new family of Positive NRG Homes™, the Seattle Prime plans are examples of how we can either “dress up” or “strip down” a true-net-zero-energy home to fit the needs and budget of our customer. The 1,955 square foot Seattle Prime ++ 1915 plan, on this page, is dressed up with a full wrap-around covered porch and patio, which connects to a detached garage (plans sold separately), with a carport in between. Ideal for the larger rural lot, this plan can either be open upstairs for hobby and office space, or it can have anywhere from one to three bedrooms upstairs for the larger family. The upper floor of the Seattle Prime ++ 1915 plan is just one example of the many ways the upstairs area can be divided, in this case providing two upstairs bedrooms, and a den.
This plan offers up enough south-facing roof area to support over 11.4 kW of solar panels, or 10 kW and a solar hot water system. In most climate zones this will take this home WAY below net-zero-energy, even powering your electric car. When solar panels are also installed on the porch roof, this home can power two electric cars!
We have just completed our Arctic Version of this plan designed to handle temperatures in the -60˚F range!
Our Seattle Prime 1915 plan was recently awarded the National Green Building Award for Concept & Research, our third such award in four years!
