They Keyoh Cabin was designed for the far northern corners of Brittish Columbia, Canada, where temperatures get down below -40˚F, and can stay in that range for weeks at a time. The original units were built WAY off the grid, so have been supplied with wood stoves to provide much of the needed wintertime heat. These cabins are below the Arctic Circle, so they do get enough sunlight each day to power the lights, but not much more. No refrigerator needed in that weather! Anywhere within the boundaries of the Continental United States, these units would be able to make it on an off-grid basis, with the right amount of battery component. We are developing a version of this plan for milder climates that will also perform very well in hot humid climates, such as Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
The loft provides additional sleeping capacity for when the whole Family drops in for a visit. The covered porch was designed for hanging a moose! I would rather attend a lauau! <:)
